The Dallas Police Department has identified a juvenile whose body was recovered from a pond in southeast Dallas last month, according to a newly released police statement.

Officers originally responded to an “Other” call at approximately 12:45 p.m. on December 25 in the 1400 block of Mission Hills Lane, where an unidentified juvenile was recovered from a nearby pond. At the time, the individual’s identity was unknown.

The following day, on December 26, an individual filed a missing persons report at the Dallas Police Department’s Southeast Division station. Police later confirmed that the juvenile recovered from the pond was the same person reported missing in that case.

The missing persons report is documented under case number 184183-2025. The death investigation is being handled separately under case number 183683-2025.

Police have not released the juvenile’s name or additional details regarding the circumstances surrounding the death. Investigators have also not disclosed whether foul play is suspected.

The case remains under investigation.

Anyone with information related to the incident is asked to contact Detective J. Romero, #10009, at 214-671-4226 or by email at [email protected].
