Dallas police have arrested a 35-year-old man after he allegedly fired shots at multiple victims across two neighborhoods within hours.
Soriya Oeur faces four felony charges following the back-to-back incidents that endangered a mother, her 5-year-old child, and several others.
The arrests highlight how rapid information sharing between patrol officers and detectives can prevent violent suspects from striking again. No injuries were reported in either shooting.
The first incident occurred at 7:40 p.m. on June 24 in the 900 block of N. Peak Street. Officers responded to reports of a man firing at a car carrying a woman and her young child.
Two hours later, police received another shooting call from the 4600 block of Sycamore Street, just a few blocks away from the first incident. Witnesses reported a man firing a gun during an argument with multiple people.
Detectives reviewing surveillance footage discovered the same suspect was responsible for both shootings. Working with patrol officers who interviewed witnesses, they quickly identified and located Oeur.
“It’s not about one team or unit working alone; it’s about working together and sharing information,” Assistant Chief Mark Villarreal said in a police department news release. “It’s through this teamwork that we solve crimes faster and keep everyone safer.”
Oeur was booked into Lew Sterrett Jail on two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony. He also faces two counts of deadly conduct for discharging a firearm, a third-degree felony.
The investigation continues under case number 089958-2025.
