The Dallas Morning News once again showed its bias against Republicans with its latest editorial board op-ed attacking former President Donald Trump over his engagement with the National Association of Black Journalists last week.
“At the National Association of Black Journalists convention in Chicago, former President Donald Trump had a golden opportunity to seriously address this most important national question. Instead, he responded with cynicism and demagoguery that demonstrate he either fundamentally misunderstands the complexity of our national racial struggle or that he treats it with contempt and disregard,” DMN’s editorial board wrote.
“His baseless suggestion that Vice President Kamala Harris only recently considered herself Black and had before considered herself Indian is false, first and foremost. Beyond that it shows no recognition that people of mixed heritage, like Harris, can and often do embrace both parts of their history, often in complex ways,” continued the editorial piece.
Despite Trump’s interview with the association, which was full of seemingly loaded questions and hostility, at least according to some observers, DMN chastised the former president.
“This is what makes Trump’s coarse ad hominem attacks such an offensive signal. It suggests that Harris is not authentic. That hews very closely to the birtherism falsehood that Trump used to claim that former President Barack Obama wasn’t born in the United States.”
As previously reported by The Dallas Express, DMN has acknowledged having a left-wing bias in a lot of its coverage.
DMN public editor Stephen Buckley confessed that readers have complained about a lack of fairness in the newspaper’s stories, alleging left-leaning bias in reports about the Israel-Hamas war, issues involving transgender people, and Trump, among other topics.
“Our Education Lab team, overseen by editor Eva-Marie Ayala, covers a host of hot-button political issues, from school choice (education savings accounts) to culture-war controversies. Readers complain that sometimes conservative voices do not show up in those stories. I would agree,” wrote Buckley.
The Dallas Express reached out to DMN publisher Grant Moise but did not receive a response.
