Dallas Police found a man dead on Monday evening after he was allegedly hit by an SUV.
Police said he was struck by the vehicle at approximately 7 p.m. on January 24 while walking in the right lane of Ferguson Road in Far East Dallas.
According to police, the driver of the dark-colored SUV did not stop after hitting the man, and continued southwest on Ferguson.
The man was pronounced dead on the sidewalk where he landed after impact.
Officials have not released the victim’s identity.
Originally, it was reported that the man apparently died of a gunshot wound and had possibly been shot elsewhere before his body was left at the location where it was found. Investigators later determined that he had not been shot.
