The United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Texas has announced that a convicted felon from Dallas has been charged with unlawful possession of twenty-one firearms.
Twenty-seven-year-old Kevion Deshaun Rogers was indicted on one count of possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and one count of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance.
Rogers’ indictment showed that he allegedly had twenty-one guns in his possession unlawfully. The guns included three AM-15 pistols, two Smith & Wesson rifles, and ten Glock Sports Guns Kalashnikov.
According to court documents, Rogers, who had been previously convicted on drug-related charges, was arrested on Sept. 11 with an empty handgun holster around his left leg.
Law enforcement found two handguns hidden in the steering wheel column cover and a fifty-round drum magazine full of ammunition on the floorboard of the back passenger seat.
However, Rogers denies having the guns with him. He now faces up to nineteen years in federal prison if convicted.
