Dallasites now have a new way to pay their bills.
The City of Dallas announced on Monday the launch of its new DallasGo online payment platform, replacing the City’s previous online payment method.
DallasGo purportedly provides a more optimized payment model, allowing locals to pay for different services and bills from the City, such as those from Dallas Water Utilities (DWU), sanitation services, housing loans, business loans, Dallas Fire-Rescue fees, and other bills. A complete list of the bills that can be paid via DallasGo can be found here.
The new system also comes with a “Guest Pay” feature, which will allow residents to complete one-time payments without creating an online profile or logging into an existing one.
“Customers with an existing online account received an email to activate their DallasGo profile. Customers who previously registered for automatic payments will need to re-enroll in AutoPay on DallasGo to continue using this feature. AutoPay customers received a targeted postcard with information on the need to re-enroll in Autopay if they wish to continue making convenient automatic payments. There are no fees for using the new payment platform,” reads a City of Dallas press release.
The City also claimed that the personal information of each user of DallasGo will be secure.
As previously reported by The Dallas Express, the City previously failed to adequately protect personal public employee data from a ransomware attack last May that crippled various City computer systems and networks, impacting services for a period of time.
“This new payment platform is being launched as part of our effort to continuously improve the customer experience and make doing business with the City easier,” said Sarah Standifer, DWU interim director, in the press release. “DallasGo aligns with our innovative and transformational technology strategy.”
Other payment methods will still be available via phone, mail, in-person at Dallas City Hall, at an authorized pay station, or in the drop box outside City Hall in the driveway between Young Street and Canton Street.
