Three people went to a hospital, one of them in critical condition, after a two-vehicle crash early Sunday morning trapped occupants beneath a bridge in Dallas, authorities said.
Dallas police and Dallas Fire-Rescue crews responded to Mockingbird Lane and Harry Hines Boulevard at about 4:30 a.m., according to FOX 4 KDFW.
Crash Under Bridge
Responders found two heavily damaged vehicles and requested a heavy rescue response to free multiple occupants pinned inside the wreckage.
Dallas Fire-Rescue transported three people to a local hospital. One person had critical injuries, and two others had serious injuries.
Police said the driver of a dark-colored car was heading northbound on an exit ramp at a high rate of speed when the vehicle struck a Jeep traveling westbound on Mockingbird Lane. The collision pushed both vehicles under the bridge, where they stopped beside a support pillar.
Driver Taken Into Custody
Dallas police traffic and DUI officers responded to the scene. Officers administered field sobriety tests to the driver of the dark-colored car and took the driver into custody, according to police.
Police continue to investigate the crash.
