Grand-Prairie police said three vehicles collided into slower traffic on Interstate 20 on Saturday morning. They say the crash left an 8-year-old child dead and two people hospitalized.
The vehicles – two SUVs and a car – crashed near Belt Line Road while traveling westbound on I-20 about 9 am, police said.
According to police, three people, including the drivers of the SUVs and an eight-year-old passenger, were transferred to hospitals. However, the eight-year-old was pronounced dead at the hospital. The condition of the two drivers is not known at the moment.
The driver of the car sustained minor injuries and was treated at the crash site.
Police have not released the identity of the child.
According to the Grand Prairie Police Department, there are no plans to arrest anyone or file any charges.
