The Dallas County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred on Friday, October 29, near downtown Dallas.
Deputies responded to the scene on the westbound lanes of Interstate 30 near South Akard Street at about 2:40 am, after receiving reports that an eighteen-wheeler had crashed into a motorcycle.
The sheriff’s office confirmed that a 27-year-old man involved in the crash was pronounced dead on the scene. The identity of the victim has not been disclosed.
The sheriff’s office added that investigators could not confirm that an eighteen-wheeler had crashed into the motorcycle.
Raul Reyna, a sheriff’s office spokesman, stated that investigators are reviewing evidence and speaking with witnesses about the crash. Reyna also revealed that one of the witnesses was uncooperative.
Reyna said that the sheriff’s office is investigating the incident as a hit-and-run. No arrests have been made in connection with the crash.
