City of Lewisville issued the following announcement on June 11

Celebrated blues pianist, singer, and songwriter Marcia Ball returns to the Texas Tunes stage on Saturday, Aug. 14, 7 p.m., Lewisville Grand Theater, 100 N. Charles Street.

Ball, the 2018 Texas State Musician of the Year, has won worldwide fame and countless fans for her ability to ignite a full-scale roadhouse rhythm and blues party every time she takes the stage. Her rollicking Texas boogies, swampy New Orleans ballads and groove-laden Gulf Coast blues have made her a one-of-a-kind favorite with music lovers all over the world.

With each new release, her reputation as a profoundly soulful singer, a boundlessly talented pianist, and a courageous, inventive songwriter continues to grow. Her love of the road has led to years of soul-satisfying performances at festivals, concert halls and clubs.

Reserved seating is available for this concert. Tier 1 tickets are $35; Tier 2 tickets are $25. Tickets can be purchased online at mclgrand.tix.com. Lewisville and Castle Hills residents may purchase select $20 tickets, subject to availability, in person with proof of residency at The Grand during regular business hours.

This concert is funded in part by the Texas Commission on the Arts.

Masks are not required to enter The Grand, but anyone who feels more comfortable with a mask or has not been fully vaccinated is strongly encouraged to wear one.

The Texas Tunes series began in 2011 as part of the inaugural season of Lewisville’s beautiful new arts facility. Featuring artists with ties to the Lone Star State, these concerts celebrate the diversity of Texas music and culture. Performers include both contemporary young artists and seasoned professionals. The series is presented by the City of Lewisville.

The Grand is Lewisville’s home for the arts. It presents a variety of regional and national touring performers, art exhibits, and classes, while also giving the many arts groups in the greater Lewisville area a facility to perform and display their works. Its multiple performance spaces play host to a variety of events, including live music, theater, dance performances, comedy shows, and more. The center features a 294-seat performance hall, black box theater, recital hall, art gallery, and courtyard.

To reach The Grand from Interstate 35E, take exit 452 and proceed east on Main Street to Charles Street. The Grand will be on the left. Free public parking is available along Main and Church streets, or at Lewisville City Hall across Church Street from the center.
