City of Coppell issued the following announcement on June 14

Coppell is celebrating Independence Day in a big way! Enjoy not one, but two star-spangled festivities on Saturday, July 3. The fun kicks off at 9 a.m. with Celebrate Coppell: Parade Down Parkway and continues in the evening with Celebrate Coppell: Party in the Park at 5 p.m.

The City’s annual Independence Day parade will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 3. The Parade Down Parkway begins at Samuel Blvd. and Sandy Lake Rd., travels north on Samuel to Parkway Blvd., then heads west to Town Center. Intersections along the parade route will be closed prior to the approaching parade and remain closed until all entries have passed. Spectators may find the best viewing locations and line the parade route early for the best spot to see the red, white, and blue floats go by on the Celebrate Coppell website!

Return to Andrew Brown Park East at 5 p.m. for Celebrate Coppell: Party in the Park! Event goers will enjoy live music by the sensational 80s cover band, Rubiks Groove, and country rock favorite, Big City Outlaws. Lawn games and delicious food truck fare will be available at this family-friendly celebration. The fireworks spectacular, choreographed to patriotic music, begins at 9:30 p.m.

Celebrate Coppell: Party in the Park is a pedestrian-friendly event and walking is encouraged. Event attendees may access the event site via trail, from both Andrew Brown Central and West, as well as Coppell High School to the west, and from the north across the Denton Creek Bridge. Passenger drop-off will be located at The CORE, 234 East Parkway Blvd. Accessible parking will be available at the Andrew Brown East parking lot.
