Alice Rios has been named the official spokesperson for multicultural media for the City of Dallas.
In this role, Rios will lead external communications and engagement efforts for the Office of Communications and Customer Experience/311, ensuring effective outreach to diverse media outlets, community stakeholders, and residents, according to a press release from the city.
Rios brings extensive experience in communications and media. She previously served as a spokesperson for the Texas Department of Transportation and held leadership roles at Dallas College in marketing, human resources, and workforce development. Additionally, she spent 24 years as an anchor and reporter with CBS Newsradio 1080, KRLD.
City Manager Kimberly Bizor Tolbert highlighted the importance of Rios’s appointment, emphasizing her deep understanding of Dallas’s diverse communities. Tolbert noted that effective communication is essential in fostering a more connected and informed city where all residents’ voices are heard.
“Alice’s experience, deep understanding of Dallas, and its demographics will play a critical role to achieving our shared goals of a more connected and informed community, ensuring the voices of all of our residents are heard,” Tolbert said.
Rios expressed her enthusiasm for the position, emphasizing her passion for public service and commitment to strengthening trust between city officials and residents. She aims to enhance engagement through accessible and transparent communication channels, ensuring that Dallas’s multicultural communities receive vital information.

Fluent in English and Spanish, Rios is well-equipped to communicate with Dallas’s diverse population. Her appointment marks a significant step toward fostering inclusive dialogue and strengthening relationships between the city and its residents.
