A year after Chris Murzin was killed in a suspected road-rage murder, his family is still looking for justice.
According to a report by CBS 11 News, Murzin was driving to work on westbound I-20 (LBJ) when he was shot and killed on February 11, 2021. This happened as his black Yukon XL was driving past I-35E at the South Polk exit.
According to CBS 11 News, a 911 caller, giving her account of the incident, said, “They are going in and out of traffic, and finally this silver SUV catches up to the black SUV and pulls up to the side of them, and they see the gunfire a shot into the black SUV on the driver’s side and then the black SUV wrecks out.”
Murzin’s car was found near the median in the middle of I-20.
Murzin was transported to a hospital, where he later died.
CBS 11 News reports that Christina Murzin, Chris Murzin’s wife, urges anyone who might have information on the incident to contact the authorities so that justice can be served.
Murzin was an outgoing man who had a “contagious laugh and a very kind heart and spirit.” Christina said that she shared three children with him, the oldest of whom has special needs.
At the time of his death, Murzin worked to advocate for people with special needs in his community and sought to ensure that every park in the Dallas area was barrier-free.
Christina described Murzin as “Jack’s biggest champion,” saying that the boy will miss his father, his enthusiasm, and “all the fun things they did together.”
Christina and the Dallas Police Department are urging anyone who has any information about the road rage incident or who knows who the shooter is to reach out to authorities. “We beg for the community to please call Crime Stoppers,” Christina said to CBS 11 News.

According to CBS 11 News, there is a reward for information in the case that stands at $57,500.
