A portion of the north and southbound HOV lanes of U.S. Highway 75 Central Expressway will be closed each weekend due to planned construction for a DART project. The weekend closures, which began last Friday, will continue for the next few months, as reported by DART.

Several lanes will be closed overnight every Friday and Saturday, beginning at 9 p.m. and ending at 5 a.m. until July 24.

The northbound lanes will be closed from just south of Galatyn Parkway to the President George Bush Turnpike. The southbound lane closures will begin north of Plano Parkway and conclude at Galatyn Parkway.

The closures are necessitated by the construction of the Silver Line bridge for the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) system. The bridge will link the CityLine/Bush Station to a future station at the University of Texas at Dallas.

The Silver Line project will run from DFW Airport to Grapevine, Coppell, Dallas, Carrollton, Addison, Richardson, and Plano, with ten stations in all.
