A Dallas woman had an unexpected start to her day when a car crashed into her apartment early Tuesday morning.

A black Ford Mustang GT was traveling westbound on Spring Valley Road when the driver apparently lost control. The vehicle hopped a curb and plowed into the living room of the woman’s apartment, landing on the couch, police told The Dallas Express.

The incident happened at the Ventana apartment complex at 5555 Spring Valley Road around 8 a.m.

Officers told The Dallas Express that an older woman and man lived in the apartment, but the woman was the only person at home at the time of the crash. She was not injured, according to police.

The driver of the Mustang, an unidentified male, was transported to a nearby hospital. His condition is currently unknown.

Police told The Dallas Express that they believe speed was a factor in the crash, but they do not know if drugs or alcohol were involved in the incident. Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the collision.

The crash left a gaping hole in the apartment, drawing the attention of curious onlookers. It is unclear whether the tenants will continue living at the apartment while repairs are made.
