A long time Dallas County Commissioner has been ousted from the Dallas County Juvenile Board.

The Dallas County Commissioners opted Tuesday to replace Commissioner John Wiley Price.

Section 152.0631 of the Human Resources Code requires that one member of the Juvenile Board be a County Commissioner.

The commissioners voted 3-2 that the new Andrew Sommerman join the board.

Commissioners Theresa Daniel and John Wiley Price voted against the change.

Price had accused County Judge Clay Jenkins of being behind the movement to remove him from the Dallas County board.

Price and Jenkins have also previously been at odds over various other issues regarding the commission’s activities, including tax office closures, tax rates, and felony backlog cases.
