Two Dallas Police Department employees were fired on Monday during disciplinary hearings with Chief Daniel Comeaux for charges including family violence and unauthorized release of body camera footage.
Police Officer Trainee III Adrian Alcorta, who joined the department in April 2023, was terminated for “engaging in adverse conduct when he was arrested for Assault Family Violence-Offensive Contact, Misdemeanor C, and assaulting a family member.” The Southeast Division officer faced charges for the domestic incident.
Police Officer Scott Simpson lost his job after being arrested for unauthorized release of body camera recordings and misusing department resources. The Central Division officer, hired in November 2019, was terminated for “engaging in adverse conduct when he was arrested for unauthorized release of body-worn camera recording, Class A Misdemeanor, and conducting subject searches through a confidential investigative platform for non-departmental purposes.”
Both officers appeared before Chief Comeaux on December 1 for their disciplinary hearings.
The terminations take effect immediately.
The Dallas Police Department has not released additional details about either case.
