Dallas has been ranked among the best cities in the United States to live for quality of life.
The ranking was released as part of U.S News & World Report’s Best Places to Live ranking. The list accounts for factors such as crime, quality and availability of healthcare, air quality, and risk of and resilience to natural disasters.
U.S. News ranked Dallas as the 20th best city in the country in terms of quality of life, noting that when you compare the cost of housing to the city’s median household income, “Dallas offers a better value than similarly sized cities.”
In terms of healthcare access, Dallas ranks in the top 5% and was highlighted for possessing prestigious hospitals, such as UT Southwestern Medical Center and Baylor University Medical Center.
And culturally, it stands above many other locations in the country.
“Dallas natives enjoy trendy bars, retail shops and even a video game museum. They also enjoy authentic Mexican and Tex-Mex cuisines,” read the report.
The publication also spotlighted the Dallas Arts District, “the largest contiguous urban arts district in the U.S.” Earlier this year, as reported in The Dallas Express, USA Today named the neighborhood the top arts district in the entire country.
Brookline, Massachusetts, took the top spot on the list, recognized for its excellent air quality, high college readiness, and accessible healthcare.
Newton, Massachusetts, took the No. 2 ranking, followed by Bethesda, Maryland, in third.
