Dallas-based Heritage Auctions has announced plans for “The Actors Auction,” a charitable event set to launch on December 1 that will feature some extremely rare memorabilia donated by some of Hollywood’s biggest names.

Proceeds from the auction will benefit the SAG-AFTRA Foundation, the nonprofit arm of the performers’ union, which provides career workshops, emergency financial assistance, and other resources for actors, according to the auction house.

“This event is about more than just discovering the value of your hidden treasures — it’s about supporting a safety net for performing artists,” says Courtney Vance, president of the SAG-AFTRA Foundation.

The idea for the auction event allegedly originated from a two-day appraisal session held earlier this year in Los Angeles, where entertainment industry veterans brought items from personal storage to be evaluated for potential consignment or sale.

A standout of the sale is The Henry Winkler Collection, which includes one of Winkler’s original screen-worn “Fonzie” leather jackets from the hit 1970s sitcom Happy Days. While a different jacket from the show currently sits in the Smithsonian museum, very few of Fonzie’s other iconic jackets remain in private hands. The jacket includes a handwritten letter from Winkler, and the actor also contributed clothing he wore on HBO’s “Barry” – as well as a private lunch experience.

Other eye-popping items on the auction block include:

  • A replica of the Apollo 13 capsule window was presented to director Ron Howard by the cast and crew.
  • A hand-painted watercolor self-portrait by John Lithgow, created while portraying Roald Dahl in a West End stage production.
  • Autographed Agatha Harkness memorabilia from Kathryn Hahn’s Marvel projects.
  • Signed items from Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda are tied to Grace and Frankie and 9 to 5.

The auction will feature a diverse collection of items that extend beyond Hollywood props and wardrobe.

Additionally, Heritage will offer original Andy Warhol artwork, signed guitars from various artists, vintage movie posters, as well as luxury watches and jewelry. Sports collectors can also bid on autographed items from greats such as Mickey Mantle, Joe DiMaggio, Willie Mays, Ted Williams, Hank Aaron, and Kobe Bryant.

“Hollywood is filled with forgotten treasures,” says Joe Maddalena, Executive Vice President at Heritage Auctions. “Just like Antiques Roadshow uncovers hidden gems in attics and basements, this appraisal event has revealed the incredible value of film memorabilia and collectibles tucked away in closets and storage units.”

Bidding is already open at HA.com; however, the live auction will take place on Monday, December 1, 2025, in Dallas, with all proceeds directly supporting the SAG-AFTRA Foundation.
