Everyone has baggage, but not everyone wants to stand in line with their issues for hours, especially when trying to catch a flight.

Dallas Love Field experienced significant lines and delays on Thursday, frustrating customers due to baggage issues.

Love Field authorities reported a problem with its baggage screening system on Thursday morning, per Fox 4 KDFW. Officials at the airport attribute a surge in passengers to the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority convention in Dallas. The convention, which took place at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, drew in 60,000 attendees.

This is the same sorority event that Vice President Kamala Harris, a pledge of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority herself, spoke at for the sorority’s national convention on July 10. This is also the sorority accused of homophobia for causing hotel evictions of gay male guests who were staying at the Crowne Plaza Downtown Dallas to attend the Daddyland circuit party. The sorority members and the men were guests at the same hotel. You can read the full story here, as previously reported by The Dallas Express.

Perhaps the convention brought with it more baggage than just suitcases.

For Love Field’s part, a spokesperson for Southwest Airlines admitted that they were trying to get a handle on the luggage situation.

“Our team at DAL is working to check in customers and their baggage as quickly as they can,” said the spokesperson, per Fox 4.

Here is more of what Fox 4 unpacked on the baggage debacle:

The airport posted on social media that travelers should arrive at the airport at least three hours early, especially if you plan to check luggage.

Love Field said that they are dealing with a large number of passengers and that the baggage screening machines are operating at full capacity.

Photos of long lines shows people surrounding the baggage check.

The line to drop off bags goes all the way outside.

Several people on social media have reported waiting in line for more than three hours.
