AI Meets Architecture in Dallas

The Dallas Architecture Forum is hosting “The Future of AI and the Design Community” at the Angelika Film Center & Cafe at Mockingbird Station this week.

With artificial intelligence expanding its reach, Tuesday’s event will explore the technology’s impact on the architectural, engineering, and construction industries. The conversation will feature specialists from multiple fields with diverse backgrounds. Amanda Buckley, chief marketing officer at the Dallas-based architecture firm OMNIPLAN, will moderate the panel.

Showcasing experts with hands-on experience, the panel will “explore how AI is reshaping the built environment and influencing our professional perspectives,” according to the event description.

“This panel is an opportunity to hear from different perspectives within the architecture and construction industry about how AI is challenging our way of work and the future of our business. AI is a major disruptor within the industry, and I’m looking forward to a lively discussion with our esteemed panel of speakers,” Buckley told CandysDirt.com.

This is not the first time AI and Dallas have converged. As reported by The Dallas Express earlier this week, City officials are looking to incorporate AI into its troublesome permitting process. The technology is expected to improve the efficiency of the permitting process, which has suffered from periodic backlogs and costly delays.

AI might also be leveraged by the City to produce a map of homeless encampments in the area. The company responsible, Nomadik, was co-founded by Trevor Sorrells and Morgan Winters earlier this year. The pair believe the technology could assist local leaders in addressing the pervasive homelessness and vagrancy problems in Dallas.

“The Future of AI and the Design Community” kicks off at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26. For those interested, a pre-panel reception will take place in the lobby at 6:15 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
