Hundreds of protesters gathered in downtown Dallas to rally against current immigration policies and recent deportations Sunday afternoon.

Organized by the Next Generation Action Network and other advocacy groups, the demonstration took place at Harwood Park. Participants carried signs and chanted slogans demanding an end to deportation practices by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

As protesters largely waved Mexican flags, a smattering of flags from other nations could be seen, too, including a handful of U.S. flags.

One protester carried a hand-painted sign: “No More Deportations.”

Speakers took turns addressing the audience, emphasizing the impact of immigration enforcement on communities of color and calling for comprehensive reform.

Some marchers chanted “si se puede,” Spanish for “yes, we can.”

Counterarguments were also present, with some onlookers expressing concerns about national security and the importance of upholding immigration laws. They argued that while compassion is necessary, legal processes must be followed to ensure fairness for those who enter the country lawfully.

A few protesters, identified by their clothing as Antifa, mixed briefly and uneventfully with the crowd.

The protest remained peaceful, with a strong police presence ensuring safety. Organizers stressed that their movement was about human rights and dignity, not just policy.

This demonstration follows a pattern of similar protests nationwide. Protesters spilled onto the freeway halting traffic outside of Los Angeles Sunday afternoon.

President Trump and his ‘Border Czar’ Tom Homan have launched an aggressive deportation effort against violent illegal immigrants since taking office last month.
