Three-year-old Lina Khil disappeared ten days ago from a playground at the Villas del Cabo apartment complex, located at 9400 Fredericksburg Road in San Antonio.

Authorities sent out an Amber Alert right after she was reported missing on December 20. Though tips keep rolling in, there have been no recent leads on locating her.

“She was with other kids when her mother left and came back a ‘relatively short time later to find her daughter missing,” Chief William McManus of San Antonio Police said at a news conference on December 21, USA Today reports.

Per KXAN, McManus made a further statement on December 28. “We have no new leads that would take us to where Lina is or what might have happened to her, but I want to emphasize we have not lessened the intensity of this investigation.”

According to CBS DFW, the FBI and other authorities working on this investigation believe this is a missing person case rather than an abduction. Even so, the FBI’s Child Abduction Rapid Deployment Team (CARD) is still working with forensic examiners on the investigation.

After checking video surveillance, investigators identified an eighteen-minute window where neither cameras nor people saw Lina, between 4:49 p.m. and 5:07 p.m.

Authorities have searched for the little girl by air and on foot, going door-to-door in the community and utilizing K-9 assistance.

Lina’s family came to the United States in 2019 as refugees from Afghanistan. She is four feet tall, weighs fifty-five pounds, and has dark brown shoulder-length hair and brown eyes. On December 20, the day she went missing, her hair was pulled back into a ponytail, and she was wearing a red dress, black shoes, and a black jacket.

A $150,000 reward is being offered for tips regarding this investigation. Anyone with relevant information is urged to contact the San Antonio Police Department’s Missing Persons Unit at 210-207-7660.

I don’t understand why the mother left a 3 year old with other kids.
Relative short time? Even 2 minutes is to long
However:Being from another country, this may be their custom
Hopefully this sweet child will be found
