A 28-year-old man from Ennis was sentenced to 25 years in prison after being convicted of continuous sexual abuse of a child on March 4.
Court records state that Jose Gustavo Garcia-Rodriguez sexually abused a 10-year-old girl multiple times during 2016 and 2017. Authorities say that the abuse, which happened during a period longer than thirty days, was carried out both in his home and in his car.
The child reported the abuse to teachers and a counselor at the school then reported the allegations to Texas Child Protective Services and the police.
The Ennis Police Department conducted an investigation and arrested Garcia-Rodriguez.
The man admitted to touching the child sexually on one occasion, according to CBS 11.
Jose Gustavo Garcia-Rodriguez was charged with and convicted of continuous sexual abuse of a young child and received a sentence of twenty-five years to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
He’ll be out in five for good behavior because he won’t have molested anyone for five years!
