One person was killed and another person was injured on Sunday morning during a shooting in South Dallas.
Police were called to the 4300 block of South Malcolm X Boulevard around 3:35 a.m. on April 20, with the preliminary investigation determining that two people had been shot at the location, according to DPD Beat.

Another person was transported to the hospital in a private vehicle.
Officials have stated that the other shooting victim was stable and has already been released from the hospital, as reported by DPD Beat.
Dallas Police have not stated whether a suspect has been arrested in connection with the shooting.
There is still no indication about the reasoning behind the incident, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact Dallas Police about the investigation under case number 055233-2025.
Those with information about the shooting are asked to call Detective M. Christian at 469-670-4735 or email at [email protected].
This shooting occurred as Dallas continues to struggle with managing crime throughout the city, with little being done to address the lack of police officers needed to manage the issue.
Proposition U, which voters approved in November 2024, was meant to address these issues by requiring the city to hire at least 4,000 police officers.
However, Dallas has not addressed the requirement and still lacks the necessary police officers for compliance, resulting in Dallas HERO sending City Hall a notice of claim for blatantly disregarding the changes, as previously reported by The Dallas Express.
