Pophouse Entertainment has acquired Tina Turner’s name, image, and likeness rights, along with the majority of her music catalog rights, from music company BMG.

The Swedish entertainment firm announced the deal on March 19, 2026, positioning it to develop new projects that preserve and extend the legacy of the late rock icon, known as the “Queen of Rock ’n’ Roll.” Pophouse, co-founded by ABBA’s Björn Ulvaeus and recognized for the ABBA Voyage digital concert experience, will work alongside BMG, which retains a minority stake in the catalog.

According to Pophouse’s official press release, the transaction makes Pophouse the majority owner of Turner’s music interests and her Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) rights.

Discussions began after Turner’s death in 2023, with her estate informed and participating in conversations, though not as a direct party to the sale.

Pophouse CEO Jessica Koravos told the Associated Press that the company was drawn to Turner’s performance style. “One of the reasons that we were so interested in Tina is because she has such an incredible visual presence and such an incredible stage energy,” Koravos said. “And so, we’re very much looking at projects that can portray that and try to recreate that to some degree.”

Koravos continued, “What we want to do is really help to consolidate her legacy. I think that Tina Turner is up there, or is going to be up there, with the Elvises and the Marilyn Monroes of the world.”

The company plans to announce specific initiatives within the next six months but has not detailed potential formats, such as digital avatars or immersive shows. BMG’s president for the U.K., Continental Europe and APAC, Alistair Norbury, stated, “Tina Turner’s voice and spirit shaped modern music and popular culture. Our responsibility, alongside Pophouse and the Estate, is to ensure her work continues to resonate with audiences around the world, while remaining true to the strength, independence and originality that defined her career.”

Financial terms were not disclosed.

This move aligns with Pophouse’s strategy of using technology to revive artist legacies while collaborating with rights holders.
