Third-party logistics company Speedy Freight has opened a new office in North Texas.

The 50,000-square-foot warehouse will serve as the UK-based courier’s U.S. headquarters. The company stated that the facility in Irving represents an investment of roughly $1.5 million.

“We’re all in on our mission to expand aggressively across the U.S., and the Dallas Headquarters and Training Academy marks a significant milestone,” said Speedy Frieght’s President of Operations, Kody Slade, in a press release.

“Our central Dallas location not only supports our franchise network but enables us to develop specialized logistics solutions that make a real difference for clients across industries,” Slade added.

Speedy Freight is known for its same-day delivery services. With the new location, the company will be strategically positioned close to DFW International Airport, the third busiest airport in the world.

The company aims to capture a larger share of the logistics market, with a particular focus on Full Truck Loads, less than Truckloads, Drayage, and Expedited Services.

“Our achievements in the U.S. over the past six months are a testament to our team’s dedication and vision. We have an ambitious plan for growth, with the support and systems needed to enable franchise success. Our focus is to become the leading logistics franchisor, setting the highest standards and building a strong brand known across the logistics sector,” said Speedy Freight CEO Mike Smith.

Speedy Freight was founded in the United Kingdom in 2006. By the end of next year, the logistics company plans to launch eight U.S. franchises, with a target of 60 by the end of the decade.

As previously detailed in The Dallas Express, North Texas’ proximity to other major metro areas in the U.S. makes it an optimal location to house logistics-focused businesses. Last year, the U.S. logistics industry was valued at $1.27 trillion. By 2028, it is expected to expand to $1.62 trillion.
