The Vistria Group is a Chicago-based, new-generation venture capital firm operating at the intersection of purpose and profit. It matches with middle-market companies in the areas of healthcare, public education, and financial resources services that are passionate about growing and committed to the community.

Their investments in these areas are driven by a belief that businesses produce progressive social value. Vistria’s team is made up of highly experienced operating partners and professional investors with a proven history of successfully working with executive teams to create innovative, market-leading companies.

The Vistria Group has announced the grand opening of its first office outside of Chicago, at the Old Parkland Dallas campus. Vistria Dallas will be headed by Bill Macatee, who joined the firm as a Managing Partner and Head of Strategic Relations after being a key Senior Advisor. Following a long career in media, Bill made the move to investing with The Vistria Group eight years ago.

Mona Sutphen joins The Vistria Group as a Managing Partner, responsible for Investment Strategies, a newly created role that will require her to work with managing partners in each vertical to constantly evaluate existing and develop new investment themes.

Sutphen has held the position of Senior Advisor at The Vistria Group since 2018. Before that, she served as a partner at Macro Advisory Partners and a managing director at UBS AG. She previously served as White House deputy chief of staff for policy under President Barack Obama and served on the President’s Intelligence Advisory Board from 2013 to 2016.

Kip Kirkpatrick, Co-CEO and Senior Partner at The Vistria Group, stated, “The Vistria Group continues to grow by investing in companies who are making a difference in their communities while generating strong returns for our investors. We find success by recruiting and promoting team members who are passionate about our approach.”
