Last week, Uber rolled out a new feature for the summer of ’22 — the party bus! Uber app users will soon be able to book a large party bus to commute their group from point A to B.

This came as a solution for large groups going to one destination, where previously they may have had to order separate Uber rides based on availability and capacity limits. This option was not ideal for many users, so the company listened and rolled out this new feature.

Uber Charter was designed “for people looking for larger-than-expected vehicles to convey larger groups from one location to another,” the company explained in an announcement video.

Example destinations given included “a wedding, wine tasting, or work event,” in addition to bachelor and bachelorette parties.

This new feature enables large groups to travel together, split the costs evenly, and have rides secured long in advance to ensure timeliness and availability. This streamlines planning and adds a layer of ease to any major party planning that requires travel.

At the company’s Go/Get Virtual Event last week, Uber announced a new slate of features, including the option to book rides throughout an extended trip and the ability to order food through Uber Eats at selected stadiums, allowing users to skip the line at the concession stands. Uber customers in the UK will be able to book trains, buses, planes, and car rentals this summer through the app as well.

The new Uber Travel feature allows users to reserve rides for each part of the traveler’s itinerary all in one hub, with the incentive of “10% back in Uber cash for each reserved ride.” The app organizes rides, flights, hotel reservations, and dining reservations all in one place for a “stress-free travel experience.”
