The Omni PGA Frisco is the largest resort currently under development in North America, and it will apparently have an array of restaurant options to match.

The $10 billion project sits on 2,500 acres, about three times the size of Legacy West in Plano, according to The Dallas Morning News.

Alongside the PGA’s new headquarters and two new 18-hole championship courses is Omni’s resort, which counts 500 guest rooms, rentable four-bedroom homes, four pools, and 13 restaurant concepts. The venue is expecting to make a splash in the golf community nationwide.

“This is meant to compete with the top 10 golf resorts in the country,” Jeff Smith, vice president and managing director of Omni PGA Frisco, told the DMN.

That would place it on par with Kiawah Island Resort in South Carolina and Pebble Beach Resorts in California, both of which Travel and Leisure named to its 11 Best Resorts in America list.

The creation of an already highly regarded golf resort is another notable addition to Frisco, which has seen a wave of corporate migrations and attractions, making North Dallas a travel destination in and of itself.

The Omni PGA Resort is the newest manifestation of an ambitious urban development philosophy, according to Texas Monthly.

One of the unique elements of the new resort is that all 13 of the restaurants on the property will be new creations. Executive chefs will create several one-of-a-kind concepts, according to the DMN.

Omni PGA said it will hire 400 restaurant workers, the DMN reported.

Of the restaurant concepts, as listed by the DMN, those inside the hotel will include:

  • The Apron, an all-day restaurant;
  • The Lookout, a lobby bar;
  • Toast & Tee, a market and coffee shop;
  • Margaret’s, an ice cream shop;
  • Green Cactus Cafe, an eatery serving the spa;
  • Bluestem, an adults-only pool restaurant and bar;
  • A separate sixth-floor infinity pool restaurant with a globally inspired menu; and
  • Trick Rider, a fine-dining restaurant open only for dinner service whose menu will boast caviar and Wagyu beef.

Outside the hotel, the following freestanding concepts will overlook the golf courses, according to the DMN:

  • Ryder Cup Grille, an all-day country-club-type restaurant;
  • The Bunker, a shop with sandwiches and salads;
  • Field’s Overlook, an outdoor restaurant;
  • The Ice House, a restaurant serving Texas barbecue that has its own hitting bays; and
  • Lounge by Topgolf, an indoor Topgolf concept with its own restaurant and bar. (This will be Lounge by Topgolf’s second location, with the first one being located at Google’s campus in Kirkland, Washington.)

The two golf courses, Fields Ranch West and Fields Ranch East, have golf memberships available but are “intended to be very exclusive,” Smith told the DMN.

Fields Ranch East was designed by acclaimed architect Gil Hanse, who said he expects the course to eventually host a Ryder Cup, according to Golf Magazine.

The course has already been selected to host several major championships, including the 2023 KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship.
