Tesla has expanded its Robotaxi service to Dallas, bringing driverless rides to North Texas.
The company announced the move in a social media post on April 18 that said, “Robotaxi is now rolling out in Dallas & Houston,” and included video showing Tesla vehicles operating with no driver or front-seat monitor visible.

The launch also extends Tesla’s Robotaxi service to Houston. The company previously launched the service in Austin and now offers Robotaxi service in three Texas cities.
Tesla is using Model Y vehicles as part of the rollout. The company also offers a more limited ride service in the San Francisco Bay Area with human drivers.
The Dallas expansion adds Tesla to a growing autonomous vehicle landscape in Texas. As previously reported by The Dallas Express, Waymo has also been expanding its footprint in the state.
According to other reporting, the initial Dallas service area includes Highland Park, the Park Cities, Uptown, and parts of downtown Dallas.
