The ultra-popular fashion retailer Primark is expanding its U.S. presence with a new store right here in North Texas.
The brand, founded in Dublin, Ireland, in 1969, currently operates 29 stores across the United States. While it is known for its affordable clothing options, the store also carries houseware and beauty products. Notably, in today’s digital age, Primark does not sell any merchandise online.
“Primark aims to provide affordable choices for everyone, from great quality everyday essentials to stand-out style across women’s, men’s, and kids, as well as beauty, homeware, and accessories,” reads the company’s website.
Now, the well-known Irish clothing store is debuting in Dallas-Fort Worth with its planned new location in Grapevine.
Primark will join another famous international fast fashion retailer recently welcomed to the region. Last month, The Dallas Express reported that the minimalist apparel company Uniqlo opened three locations in North Texas.
Primark’s North Texas expansion will not be the first in the Lone Star State. Primark will open its first store in Texas at the La Plaza Mall in McAllen on December 12. New stores in Hurst, El Paso, and Houston will soon follow
“Now, more than ever, Americans are seeking value. Our ongoing expansion across the country represents our commitment to bringing Primark’s unique combination of quality products at affordable prices to as many American shoppers as possible,” President of Primark U.S. Kevin Tulip said, per a company press release.
While Primark has existed for well over five decades, it did not enter the U.S. market until 2015, when it opened a location in Boston. As of 2024, the chain operates more than one million square feet of retail space across the United States.
The Irish chain has 450 stores in 17 countries and employs more than 80,000 people. While Primark has signed a lease for space at the Grapevine Mills shopping mall, no official opening date has been announced.
