A new airline ticket to paradise from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport to the South Pacific country of Fiji could be available for purchase soon.
Fiji Airways filed an application with the U.S. Department of Transportation on July 11 to offer a nonstop flight option from DFW Airport to Nadi International Airport.
The airline company mentioned in its application that it would be using a new aircraft for this potential 13-hour flight route, the Airbus A350-900. The jet features 334 seats arranged in a way that provides ultimate comfort for passengers. The business class is arranged in a 1-2-1 seat configuration with nine rows that include direct aisle access, power outlets, and USB ports, as well as 17-inch TV screens, according to The Points Guy. In the economy class, there are a total of 301 seats, 39 of which include extra legroom.
If the route is approved, Fiji Airways plans to “operate three weekly flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays beginning as soon as all required government approvals are received,” the filing states, per The Points Guy.
This nonstop flight from DFW to Nadi would be the airline company’s longest flight at 6,625 miles, which is 760 miles longer than the company’s current longest flight from Vancouver to the South Pacific country, reported The Points Guy.
There are currently no flights that run from Fiji to Dallas, as reported by The Dallas Morning News. However, if the route is approved, Dallas would be considered the fourth U.S. destination that Fiji Airways offers service to.
Fiji Airways recently adopted American Airlines’ loyalty program and will now offer passengers the chance to earn and redeem AAdvantage miles for all Fiji Airways flights booked, according to the American Airlines website. Fiji Airways is also joining oneworld alliance in 2025, becoming the 15th full member of the aviation alliance.
