Food distribution day changes for area residents who receive food from the Tarrant Area Food Bank’s (TAFB) Mega Mobile Market, but the same excellent service and nutritious food remains.

The Mega Mobile Market food distribution has moved from Friday to Wednesday evenings. The mobile market will be open from 6:00-8 p. m. every Wednesday at Herman Clark Stadium.

Families will still receive a variety of fresh produce, dairy, and proteins based on product availability.

Mega Mobile Markets are designed to serve all residents of the Tarrant area who need food assistance. It is operated on a first-come, first-served basis for those who qualify.

To receive the benefits, you must receive government benefits (SNAP, SSI), be eligible based on your income (USDA guidelines), or experience a crisis, such as a fire, flat tire, paying for medical expenses, or a child needing new glasses. COVID-19 may be a crisis for some of it has affected their household income.

The TAFB advises eligible residents to arrive early since lines for quickly. Also, ensure you have an empty trunk or back seat for the food.

According to the TFAB, food insecurity is still an issue that many Tarrant area families face. During the Delta variant spread, TAFB continued to see an increase in the number of families who relied on food bank services for the first time.

Volunteers are also needed to assist at the distribution center to sort and pack boxes for Mega Mobile Markets. Visit the website to volunteer or make a monetary donation to help the food bank.
