The Metroplex Civic and Business Association (MCBA) recently held its bimonthly Leadership Luncheon, which featured a discussion on humanoid robotics, showcasing the region’s role in technological innovation.

Hosted by Amy Robbins, CEO of Alexo Athletica, the event welcomed Jeff Cardenas, CEO of Apptronik, and investor Chris Camillo for an engaging conversation on the future of AI-driven human-like robots.

MCBA, a non-partisan, non-profit business league, has been instrumental in fostering civic and business engagement in Dallas-Fort Worth.

During the luncheon, the leaders took a moment to recognize that the organization, with over 100 member companies, crossed the threshold of representing nearly 10,000 employees across the Metroplex.

They reiterated a commitment to amplifying the voice of business leaders while tackling pressing local issues such as crime, property taxes, and education.

During a Q-and-A discussion at the event, Cardenas shared insights into Apptronik’s cutting-edge advancements in humanoid robotics, emphasizing the potential for these machines to revolutionize industries from manufacturing to customer service.

Camillo discussed the investment landscape and how Texas is positioning itself as a leader in robotics and AI. The conversation also addressed concerns about job displacement, global competition, and the broader impact of humanoids on society.

The luncheon also featured a special raffle sponsored by Montfort Capital Partners, with proceeds benefiting MCBA’s mission.

As MCBA prepares for its next major events, including a March 4th happy hour at Milo Butterfingers and the April 1st Leadership Luncheon, the organization continues to provide opportunities for business leaders to engage, connect, and drive meaningful change in DFW.
