The long-awaited Prada boutique has officially opened at NorthPark Center.
The new shop opened its doors to customers on December 10, welcoming patrons to the new 10,000-plus square foot location just in time for Christmas shopping. In addition to the new Prada store, the shopping complex is home to a wide range of other luxury brands, including Gucci, Versace, and ME+EM.
As The Dallas Express previously reported, Prada, which opened in Milan in 1913, will occupy one of the biggest spaces in the mall’s south corridor.
“We are opening a new dedicated boutique in Dallas NorthPark with a lot of excitement and enthusiasm. We are introducing it as one of our flagship boutiques in the U.S. market,” said Gianfranco D’Attis, Prada brand chief executive officer, per WWD.
According to D’Attis, the new location features an open area with six curated spaces, enabling the boutique to host special events or pop-up experiences.
D’Attis said it is critical that a brand like Prada offers the right product variety and experience when entering new markets.
“The U.S. market is a key pillar for Prada. That said, we have an opportunity to grow further and gain market share — we are heavily investing in the U.S., talent attraction, retail expansion, and experience is an obsession for us and naturally an integral part in this regard,” he said.
For its part, the shopping complex is pleased to be welcoming the world-class brand to its premises.
“We are thrilled to bring the storied history and enduring elegance of this legendary luxury brand to NorthPark Center. Prada is a shining example of NorthPark’s commitment to exceptional store design, illustrating the brand’s brilliance in a captivating and elevated way,” said NorthPark Management Co. President Nancy A. Nasher.
NorthPark’s offerings continue to evolve. In September, The Dallas Express reported on another luxury brand, Givenchy, which opened its 10th freestanding location in the Americas when it joined NorthPark. Givenchy occupies a 5,600-square-foot space near the new Prada boutique.
