A local pumpkin patch operation reversed its decision not to open this fall after it was able to find enough employees to run the seasonal attraction safely.

As previously reported in The Dallas Express, the Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch announced on September 10 that it would be closed for the 2022 fall season.

Attraction organizers posted on Facebook, “Like many businesses today, our notice for help did not generate the number of employees necessary to open safely and efficiently. We would like to thank all of our loyal customers for the 29 years of success we have enjoyed!”

Their notice called for “enthusiastic, motivated, hard-working, dedicated … people who work well with others and also independently, who bring a positive attitude and good customer service to our patch.”

Not enough people responded at the time, but things turned around for the local attraction.

In the days following the cancellation, the patch has reportedly received enough commitments from residents of the Flower Mound area.

Pumpkin patch organizers credited Christi Geraci Beca, realtor and founder of Flower Mound Women in Business, for lending a helping hand.

“It’s a family tradition, and I can’t sit by and let one of our storied institutions just not open because of staffing issues,” stated Beca, speaking with The Cross Timbers Gazette. “When I heard the news, I sent them a message and said, ‘Whatever you need, I can help.'”

“We are so thankful for Christi to help us and are pleased that so many people did not want us to close,” stated Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch spokesperson Patsy Mizeur.

The pumpkin patch is set to open sometime in early October, according to The Cross Timbers Gazette, which encouraged its readers to keep up with the attraction’s Facebook page for updates.

The Flower Mount Pumpkin Patch is located off FM-1171 at 5100 Cross Timbers Rd.
