PopStroke, a Florida-based bar and restaurant chain with mini-golfing, is planning a new location at the Grandscape in The Colony.

A filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation on Friday revealed that PopStroke plans to invest $5.2 million in renovating and altering a 13,000-square-foot space within the Grandscape development.

Upon completion, the PopStroke venue will feature a total of 37 outdoor mini-golf holes, an outdoor playground area, and food and drink services.

Construction is scheduled to begin in June, and the project is anticipated to be finished by December.

There is still no information regarding the opening day, per the Dallas Business Journal.

It will be the second Texas location for PopStroke, which features putting courses designed by golfing legend Tiger Woods.

Its first location outside of Florida was built in Katy late last year, per the Houston Business Journal.

The Katy venue spans an area of approximately 20,000 square feet. It features a full-service restaurant, four bars, and an ice cream parlor.

Most importantly, it has two 18-hole putting courses across 55,000 square feet of outdoor space.

Noting that these putting courses are for players of all ages and skill levels, Woods said in a statement given when the location opened in December, “PopStroke is about bringing friends and families together to create lasting memories around the game of golf,” per the HBJ.

PopStroke has also been branching out into Arizona, with a new location planned in Scottsdale that will join one already built in Glendale, per the Dallas Business Journal.

The Grandscape development, where the new PopStroke location is set to open, continues to expand with various new food and entertainment spaces.

As The Dallas Express reported earlier this year, Portillo’s, a Chicago-based fast food hot dog restaurant, also recently opened a location there. It marked the first Texas location for the chain, which CEO Michael Osanloo claimed is the first of many.

“Texas is an amazing market, and I can’t wait for our fans there to see this showstopper of a restaurant,” explained Osanloo, per WFAA.

PopStroke’s expansion in the Lone Star State is bound to be a success, given the vast number of potential customers in the nation’s second most populated state.

Golf experienced a surge in popularity after the pandemic, with a record 3.3 million people playing on a golf course for the first time ever in 2022, per the National Golf Foundation.
