After a long time being a Chase Tower tenant, JPMorgan Chase is moving out of the landmark office skyscraper. The financial services firm will continue its downtown operations in Hunt Consolidated’s building at 1900 N. Akard St. at Woodall Rodgers Freeway.
According to The Dallas Morning News, executive chair of Hunt Consolidated Inc., Ray Hunt, said the property company is honored that JPMorgan Chase will soon be operating from its building as “one of the most highly respected financial services firms in the world.”
The 55-story Chase Tower on Ross Avenue was built in 1987, with Commerce Bank as its key tenant. When JPMorgan Chase moved in, they occupied 194,000 square feet on eleven floors in Chase Tower.

This means that the financial services firm will be conducting its operations from a smaller space. As part of adjustments to the change, Chase intends to create updated signage on the new building, different from the bright blue logo of the current building.
JPMorgan Chase is one of the largest employers in North Texas, with about 14,600 employees in the metro area and over 200,000 business clients in the Dallas Fort-Worth area. The financial giant will have 600 workers at its downtown branch moved to Hunt Consolidated building at Woodall Rodgers Freeway.
According to The Dallas Morning News, JPMorgan Chase’s Dallas chair Elaine Agather addressed the move in a statement, saying that the bank “has been an important part of Dallas for more than 100 years now, and we’re committed to being an important part of the city’s future for many years to come.”
