To facilitate its expansion across North Texas, H-E-B plans to host a 700-position job fair for a new Collin County location.

The San Antonio-based grocery chain announced that it would hire both full-time and part-time positions for its new Plano store on Saturday. Some of the job positions include roles in the bakery, deli, produce, seafood, and market departments, as well as in catering and the checkout lines.

The job fair will be held on Aug. 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Collin College, located at 2800 East Spring Creek Parkway in Plano. H-E-B’s future Plano store will be located at Spring Creek Parkway and Preston Road.

Officials for H-E-B confirmed that Prosper, Rockwall, Forney, and Allen are locations for future stores. Construction on H-E-B stores in Frisco, Plano, and McKinney is underway. The company also held a 700-position job fair at the Frisco location earlier this summer.

Starting hourly wages at most H-E-B locations begin at $15, according to the company. Job benefits include a 10% employee discount, a partner stock plan, a matching 401K, paid time off, and health insurance.

The privately owned supermarket chain asks anyone interested in the job fair to visit H-E-B’s careers webpage or text “metro” to 8-1931 to get directed to all of H-E-B’s available positions at the Plano location.

With more than 340 store locations throughout Texas, H-E-B’s recent expansion initiatives into Collin County are expected to add thousands of jobs to North Texas as they continue to open more locations.
