Frontier Airlines is commemorating its expansion at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport with exciting events and promotional offers.

In a news release on March 20, the ultra-low-cost carrier announced that it will host events in Fort Worth and Plano on March 22 and 23 and give away hundreds of free flights to lucky attendees.

Frontier announced its plans to establish a significant presence at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport last November, as The Dallas Express reported.

Citing the metroplex’s steady growth as a major draw, Frontier announced that a new local crew base would be established in spring. As many as 120 new airline pilots and 220 flight attendants will be hired, bringing more than $78 million in local wages.

Starting in May, the airline will offer non-stop services to five new destinations out of DFW, including Montego Bay, New York-La Guardia, Raleigh-Durham, Baltimore, and Orange County, per Simple Flying. With these new routes, Frontier will serve a total of 20 markets from DFW.

The first event planned in celebration of these ventures will take place at Legacy Food Hall in Plano on March 22 from 4 to 7 p.m. The second will be held at Birdie’s Social Club in Fort Worth on March 23 from 4 to 7 p.m.

Guests can register for the event in Plano here and the event in Fort Worth here.

The Frontier-themed events will feature fun games and activities that offer participants a chance to win free flights.

There will also be a limited-time round-trip flight promotion. Through March 27, travelers who book flights from DFW using the promo code GET20k and complete their trip before June 15 will receive a bonus of 20,000 Frontier Miles. The flights must be purchased directly with Frontier, and reservations made before March 21 are not eligible.

Frontier is also inviting the public to help choose a name for its newest plane tail.

In line with the airline’s well-known practice of featuring unique animals on its planes’ tails, the newest representation is Texas-inspired: the golden-cheeked warbler. As an endangered species, this bird is a special symbol of Texas and its wildlife.

Three names have been pre-selected, according to Frontier’s press release:

  1. J.R. – Inspired by the legendary character from the hit TV show Dallas.
  2. Emmitt – A nod to Emmitt Smith, the former Dallas Cowboys player and a fan favorite.
  3. Chisholm – An homage to the Chisholm Trail, which was once a major route for livestock and is now a popular hiking and cycling course.

People can either cast their votes in person at one of the events or on social media.

Other endangered animal-bedecked plane tails at Frontier include Nevada the Red Fox, Crystal the Florida Manatee, Spot the Jaguar, Wiley the Bison, and Rocket the Hammerhead Shark.
