Kimberly-Clark and its trusted associate brands are an integral part of people’s lives around the world. Through ingenuity, innovation, and understanding of people’s most basic necessities, they create products that enable individuals to do what is essential.

They use sustainable practices that keep the planet healthy, build strong communities, and guarantee their business prosperity for decades to come. With its global headquarters in Dallas, Texas, the company employs thousands of people around the world.

In July 2020, as part of its commitment to reducing its operational and supply chain carbon footprint, Kimberly-Clark announced aggressive 2030 goals for its trusted brands, which include Huggies®, Kleenex®, Cottonelle®, Scott®, Kotex®, and Depend®.

The new objectives incorporate a 50 percent overall reduction in absolute greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across its global operations from the baseline year of 2015.

The company announced on October 27, 2021, that it has received a SmartWay® 2021 Excellence Award. The award honors organizations employing a series of fuel-saving initiatives throughout their transportation and freight delivery services in an effort to minimize emissions from transportation and improve the sustainability of freight delivery.

Awarded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Kimberly-Clark has been designated an industry leader in freight supply chain environmental performance as well as energy efficiency. This is one of only 12 transportation and logistics organizations to achieve this honor, which reflects the best environmental performance of SmartWay’s 4,000+ partners.

Vice President of Distribution and Planning at Kimberly-Clark, Scott DeGroot, said, “We are proud to receive a ninth consecutive SmartWay Excellence Award, which recognizes our continued efforts to minimize the carbon footprint of our transportation network. We will continue to work with our suppliers to find innovative ways to increase operating efficiency, lower greenhouse gas emissions across our value chain, and provide better care for a better world with the smallest environmental footprint.”
