Several Dallas-Fort Worth businesses are gaining reputations for being desirable places to work.

The latest “America’s Best Employers By State” ranking was released by Forbes, with a total of nine employers operating in the DFW making the cut.

To compile the list, Forbes and research firm Statista identified companies with over 500 workers nationwide. They then surveyed the companies’ full- and part-time employees, asking questions about working conditions, compensation packages, potential for development, and more.

A total of 70,000 employees participated, and their answers were kept anonymous to ensure candor.

Both Texas Oncology and Fidelity Investments made the top 10 list of employers operating in the state, affirming their influence and work environments by placing No.6 and No.9, respectively.

Texas Oncology is a Dallas-based medical provider network that has been working to advance cancer research and offer treatment since 1986. It boasts a workforce of 4,766, but such a size has not hindered the work culture, according to nurse leader Nicole Forkner.

“So many of our patients have left a lasting memory with me. Not only are we healing their heart, mind, and soul, but they are healing ours too,” Forkner said, according to Culture Map Dallas.

Texas Oncology is sponsoring the upcoming Cattle Baron’s Ball on October 14, as covered by The Dallas Express. The event is the world’s largest single-night cancer research fundraiser. It will feature country music star Shania Twain at Southfork Ranch in Parker, Texas.

As for Fidelity Investments, the Boston-based financial services firm has approximately 6,000 of its 68,000 employees working at its two-building campus in Westlake.

Fidelity’s conducive work environment and chances for career growth have consistently kept it among the state’s best employers. It made a significant climb this past year after placing at No.22 on Forbes’ list in 2022.

By late last year, Fidelity had over 9,000 employees across Texas. Still, it launched an initiative to hire an extra 500 more for its customer service and tech operations at the start of 2023, as previously reported by The Dallas Express.

The other DFW employers making Forbes’ top 20 include Capital One at No.14 and the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas at No.17.

Further down the list were Southwest Airlines at No.22, Texas Health Resources at No.24, General Motors at No.25, the City of Plano at No.27, and Toyota North America at No.28.
