Delta Airlines is adding all new flights from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in 2024.
Delta will expand its flight schedule at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) on April 22, 2024, to include 11 new peak-day trips and about 20% more seating capacity, making it the airline’s largest Austin schedule ever, the Atlanta-based airline said in a news release.
In total, Delta plans to introduce three daily flights from AUS to Nashville (BNA), three flights to Midland-Odessa (MAF), three to McAllen (MFE), one additional flight to Cincinnati (CVG), and one to Raleigh-Durham (RDU).
“This expansion not only creates an access point to diverse opportunities for business, leisure, and cultural exploration spanning Texas and beyond but also solidifies Delta’s commitment to being a key player in Austin’s evolving landscape,” said Joe Esposito, Delta’s SVP of Network Planning.
“Austin is growing rapidly, and this 20% increase in capacity mirrors that growth as we look to provide our customers with unparalleled convenience in the region,” he added.
According to Delta, AUS will become a key access point to facilitate connections to the airline’s larger global network.
By expanding its travel offerings through Austin to or from Midland-Odessa and McAllen, the airline says customers will have access to nearly 50 nonstop flights at all Delta hubs, including Las Vegas and Orlando.
This expansive network offers abundant choices to explore destinations from coast to coast, as well as provides additional global connectivity with nonstop service to Mexico City (MEX) and Amsterdam (AMS).
Austin isn’t the only Texas market where Delta plans on expanding operations in 2024 — Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) is also on the schedule.
Beginning in the summer of 2024, Delta will fly additional flights from DFW to Boston (BOS) and LaGuardia (LGA). Delta will also introduce flights from DFW to Seattle (SEA) starting July 8, 2024.
