Founded in 2012 and headquartered in Dallas, Royal Alliances pioneered the only cloud-based mailing marketplace – in the world – for the United States Postal Service (USPS). The digital solution recognizes postage reductions, scales mail volume, and adjusts in real-time to aggregate USPS postage payments.

The company assists customers across the financial services, insurance, and government sectors for registered “First-Class Mail,” along with some of the leading direct mail organizations. Its expense — and postage — tracking software contributes to greater supply chain transparency at lower costs.

To extend product capabilities, Royal – the leading software-as-a-service (SaaS) provider of postage discount identification – announced on January 9 the acquisition of Direct Logistics Incorporated.

Direct Logistics (DLI) is a leading provider of third-party logistics services for “destination-entry, postal-drop shipping” for the direct mail industry. DLI has operated for over two decades. It also provides affordable shipping logistics services for non-mail, paper-based products, such as printed material and raw print stock.

Acquiring DLI complements the vision at Royal to bring together the leading postal service organizations within a robust network maximizing mailing, logistics, and operational economics. Together, the company will provide unparalleled supply chain visibility across a growing base of more than 500 customers who handle billions of dollars in annual mail volume.

DLI and its Truck Direct Mail software platform capabilities, in particular, will well-suit the platform at Royal for providing better service to in-house insurance, financial services, government, and direct mail organizations.

Co-Founder and CEO of Royal Alliances, Aaron McDaniel, explained: “This acquisition gives Royal Alliances the ability to more seamlessly move mail across the U.S. and provide our combined customers with the ability to take advantage of a technology-first approach. Our technology platform is revolutionizing postal supply chain visibility and payments, and the addition of DLI strengthens our logistics service capabilities.”
