Texas-sized restaurant franchise Dickey’s Barbecue Pit is offering free meals for kids to kick off the new year.

“At Dickey’s we know that the love for Legit. Texas. Barbecue. starts at an early age, CEO Laura Rea Dickey said in a news release. “That’s why we are thrilled to be offering our kids and their parents this special free barbecue deal for the entire month of January.”

Founded in Dallas in 1981, Dickey’s operates more than 400 stores across the U.S., including 126 in Texas. It has 15 locations in Dallas.

In January, customers will receive one free kids’ meal when they purchase adult orders of $12 or more using the offer code KEFOLO at www.dickeys.com or on the Dickey’s app. Also through January 31, the company is offering free delivery every Tuesday using the code FREEDELIVERY online and on the app.

Separately, Dickey’s announced that the Dickey Foundation awarded 20 grants totaling more than $250,000 to first responders in Texas and 10 other states.

“The Dickey Foundation is very happy to be able to offer additional support to the brave first responders of multiple communities this year,” Dickey’s Capital Group CEO Roland Dickey Jr. said in the release. “We look forward to continuing this worthy mission of helping the brave men and women who serve us every day.”

Dickey’s customers can help support local first responders by purchasing a Big Yellow Cup. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the cups is earmarked for grants and The Dickey Foundation. In addition, customers can choose to donate $1 with any purchase.
