Childress Engineering Services celebrated the first anniversary of its expanded global headquarters in Richardson, having relocated from the Richardson Innovation Quarter to the Galatyn Commons area in July 2024.

The 30-year-old company has called Richardson home for more than two decades. The latest move positioned one of North Texas’ fastest-growing companies in Richardson’s thriving business corridor.

“We are a multifaceted group. We have one group that focuses on what we call low-rise, three stories, two stories, one story, concrete, wood, concrete-block, metal studs – so we do a lot of homes,” owner and President Tony Childress said, per Richardson Today. “Both custom homes, production homes, multimillion-dollar homes, and also we do commercial buildings.”

The company specializes in a diverse range of architectural and engineering projects across both residential and commercial sectors. Its portfolio spans custom luxury homes to commercial buildings.

Richardson’s economic vitality drew the firm to the city. Annual events like the Wildflower and Cottonwood Art Festival sealed the deal.

Childress regularly participates in the Richardson Corporate Challenge. The company views the event as both a team-building exercise and a community contribution.
