Executive Ben Coogan is switching jobs with Medical City Healthcare.

Coogan will become CEO of Medical City Plano on June 26, transferring from Medical City Fort Worth.

Medical City Healthcare is a subsidiary of HCA Healthcare.

Coogan will be replacing Jyric Sims in Plano. Sims has been promoted to HCA Healthcare’s West Florida Division. Coogan will supervise the hospital in Plano, which has 600 acute care beds and 2,200 employees.

“Ben is a collaborative leader dedicated to providing outstanding and compassionate patient-centered care for our community,” Allen Harrison, president of Medical City Healthcare, said in a news release to The Dallas Express.

“Building on the hospitals’ strong legacies of leadership and world-class care, I am confident he will lead Medical City Plano to the next level of healthcare excellence.”

Coogan has more than 15 years of experience with the company. He started his career at Medical City Plano in 2006. In Fort Worth, Coogan oversaw more than $30 million in facility expansion and capital projects, the news release said. He also has been chief operating officer at Medical City Dallas, Medical City Children’s Hospital, and Medical City Arlington.
