A fire broke out at an apartment complex in southeast Dallas early Thursday, according to a report by The Dallas Morning News.

Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to the Creekside Villas Apartments in the 400 block of Jim Miller Road.

According to the department, the fire started from a first-floor apartment, and three more apartments sustained smoke and water damage.

While investigators said it began in the living room of the first-floor apartment, they have not yet found the cause.

Fire-Rescue spokesman Jason Evans said the fire crew rescued a woman from the apartment. The woman was taken to a hospital for treatment of her injuries, as was a man who was found outside of the apartment when firefighters arrived. The condition of the two is unknown as of Thursday morning.

The exact number of people affected was not disclosed. However, officials said that all displaced residents have found housing with family members.
