A new investment from Coltala Holdings aims to grow the Dallas-based Pond Robinson firm while bringing more job opportunities to the D-FW region. The firm works to help institutional clients acquire property and provides architectural and engineering services for these property owners, according to an October 24 press release. Pond Robinson & Associates, L.P., was established in 1998.
Founding Member Alan Pond will stay with Pond Robinson as an investor and advisor following the new deal.
The President and Managing Principal, Michael Raybon, and Principal, Mark Peter, will also stay on to lead, the press release shares.
Raybon shared that he was excited for this next step in the Pond Robinson journey.
“Mark and I are both excited to continue on the twenty-five-year legacy of quality and strong relationships at Pond Robinson as we transition to the next level through this investment,” Raybon said in the press release.
Coltala Holdings co-founders and co-CEOs, Ralph Manning and Edward Crawford spoke with The Dallas Express in an email interview on October 27 to further discuss the new Pond Robinson investment.
Manning and Crawford shared that the people with whom they will get to work and the quality of the work that they will get to create are the most exciting aspect of this deal. The co-founders added that they were looking for an investment such as this one for a while, and were happy to find one in the Dallas-Fort Worth region.
Pond Robinson is already growing and expanding, and this investment will support that growth, according to Manning and Crawford.
“We want to help create high-quality jobs, serve our clients and have team members who love what they do and have an impact through their work,” Manning and Crawford said when asked what they want this investment to achieve.
By adding jobs, this investment will be beneficial for the D-FW region.
“We will create more quality high-paying jobs for engineers in the region as we grow the firm,” Manning and Crawford told The Dallas Express.
Pond Robinson is currently headquartered in Dallas, according to the press release, with 42 employees. There are also offices in Houston, Atlanta, and Tampa.
Pond shared that it was important for Pond Robinson to find the right partner before making this transition.
Pond said in the press release that he was “so proud of what Michael Raybon and Mark Petersen have accomplished together over the last 20+ years. After building this business over many years, it was very important to find the right partner. Ralph, Edward, and the Coltala team are high integrity and are a great fit for our culture and mission at Pond Robinson.”
Manning and Crawford told The Dallas Express that the key factors they consider when looking at new investments are a proven track record over decades, quality, reputation, people, and blue-chip clients.
The average tenure at Pond Robinson is the highest that Manning and Crawford have seen in a business.
Coltala Holdings and Pond Robinson seek to grow organically, according to the press release, by serving the growing needs of their clients.
